Entry: Out of the Heart Wednesday, May 25, 2005

"When she (Queen of Sheba) was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart. My heart is inditing [bubbling up with] a good matter. For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh."
2 Chronicles 9:1; Psalm 45:1; Mt. 12:34

As we gather together each Lord’s Day for worship and remembrance, sometimes our worship is silent, particularly on the part of the sisters. At other times it is an audible _expression (from the men) to which all the saints may add a hearty “Amen.” In either case may it truly be an expression from the heart which pleases Him. “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord” (Ps. 19:14). —Wm. Gustafson

Jesus, Thou alone art worthy, ceaseless praises to receive;
For Thy love and grace and goodness rise o’er all our tho’ts conceive. —Trench
